Giraffe is a UK registered charity, which aims to raise funds mainly within the UK through a combination of individual donations, sponsorship, events and grants, to fund ongoing development of the project in Akropong, Ghana.
COVID-19 has meant we’ve needed to put some things on hold for now... but we hope to can carry on with our important work very soon.
We have a vision to set up a Mobile Library travelling around eight primary schools in the town of Akropong, transporting a catalogued library of books covering a variety of topics suitable for a mix of ages. Each child will receive a personalised reading record and book bag, allowing them to keep a log of their reading. The library will be run by a small team of staff and volunteers.
