Who We Are
The founder of Giraffe, Winifred Obese-Bempong, was educated in both Ghana and the U.K. In Ghana, she found herself in an education system that wasn't effective in helping her grow and realise the power she had to stand tall. In a nutshell, this is why Giraffe exists- to develop solutions to significant learning challenges that some children face.

What We Do
Giraffe Children's Library (Giraffe) provides educational resources to primary-school-age children (6-12) in the Akropong Akuapem Township in Ghana.
Giraffe provides access to books and other educational resources for children in Akropong and is currently operating, quite contrary to our initial plan, a fixed library.
Learning difficulties are often not catered for by existing educational systems in Ghana. Therefore, Giraffe aims to provide additional support for children with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia.
